Thanks to Just Jared, the first set photos of Ryan Reynolds in his Wade Wilson pre-Deadpool character have just been released to the Internet. In the still pics, the 38-year-old actor is seen wearing a hood, the rest of his body also totally covered up, and it looks like he might have some prosthetic make-up on his face, indicating that these scenes take place after Wade is experimented on and left severely disfigured. The 33 photos from the location shooting in a dirty alley behind a strip club in the early morning hours of Thursday (April 2) in Vancouver include of those with co-stars Ed Skrein, Gina Carano and Morena Baccarin.

In a video released yesterday, April 1st, Extra TV's host Mario Lopez, asked title star Ryan Reynolds to confirm whether the upcoming Deadpool movie will be rated PG-13 or R. The interview however was cut short, when Deadpool himself arrived, knocked out Lopez from behind for advocating for a PG-13 rating, and saying, "It's okay Jesse, Slater can't hurt you anymore," a reference to Lopez's Saved By The Bell days. Reynolds' voice over is next heard saying, "April Fools'! Deadpool will of course be rated R."

20th Century Fox later confirmed to Comic Book Resources that the original assertion that it would be rated PG-13 was the April Fools' joke and that the Deadpool film is "definitely" rated R.

The day before that, the studio launched the official website and Twitter page for the upcoming Deadpool movie, with both showing the first still photo Ryan Reynolds in his "merc with the mouth" costume posing a la Burt Reynolds on a bearskin rug in front of a blazing fire. The star captioned his first tweet thus: "With great power, comes great irresponsibility. #deadpool #officialsuit @deadpoolmovie"

The studio that day also unveiled the movie's official logo as well as its official synopsis which reads: "Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life."

Finally, Fox also announced that newcomer Brianna Hildebrand, a relative newcomer, has been cast as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, mutant a telepath with precognitive abilities. Hildebrand now joins Reynolds who plays the title role; Baccarin who plays Vanessa Carlyle, a mutant with shape-shifting abilities and codenamed Copycat, who has a long romantic history with Deadpool; T. J. Miller, who plays Weasel, Deadpool's only friend, sidekick, information broker and arms dealer; Carano who plays Angel Dust, a mutant with the ability to control her adrenaline and thus have super-strength for a short while; and Skrein who plays a character named Ridge, reportedly a villain in the film.

The movie is currently in production in Vancouver with Tim Miller directing from a script written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Deadpool is announced for screening in cinemas by February 12, 2016, right after the release of Fantastic Four on August 7, 2015. It will be followed by X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016, Gambit on October 7, 2016, the still untitled Wolverine 3 movie on March 3, 2017, Fantastic Four 2 on June 9, 2017, and a still unspecified X-Men film on July 13, 2018.
