Solange Knowles' business partner Armina Mussa was stabbed 10 times earlier this week in New Orleans, Knowles' rep confirms to Us Weekly. In L.A. at the time, the singer immediately flew back home upon hearing the news and has been with Mussa and her family since.

Singer Solange Knowles was scheduled to do a gig in conjunction with the Coachella Festival this weekend but tragic circumstances forced her to return to New Orleans.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that she flew home after getting news that her business partner, Armina Mussa, had been stabbed.

USA Today reports that representatives for Knowles (the younger sister of Beyoncé) confirmed to Entertainment Tonight Canada, that she immediately flew back to New Orleans to be with Armina Mussa and her family.

"[Solange] was set to DJ a party taking place during Coachella but was not booked for the actual Coachella festival," says the rep. "She did cancel that as she flew to New Orleans immediately upon hearing the news and has been with Armina and Armina's family at the hospital since."

The 24-year-old Mussa, the creative director for Knowles' fashion line, Saint Heron, and the co-owner of her New Orleans boutique Exodus Goods, is in critical condition with 10 stab wounds.

The Times-Picayune report adds that Knowles was present in court Thursday as the suspect, 26-year-old Arronesia Christophe, was booked on charges of attempted second-degree murder.

In documents filed in New Orleans Parish court, Christophe maintained that she was acting in self-defense after Mussa tried to force her to leave the home of a mutual acquaintance.

Christophe remains jailed in New Orleans on a $50,000 bond.
