Boy George (George Alan O'Dowd), 53, the British singer-songwriter best known for front-lining for the award-winning 1980s pop band Culture Club, will soon have his own reality-TV show. He and his manager Paul Kemsley are teaming up with producer Cindy Cowan and Bunim/Murray Productions to develop a documentary series chronicling his move from London to Los Angeles.

Regarding the project, Gil Goldschein, Chairman and CEO of Bunim/Murray Productions, the company behind such successful and long-running franchises as Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Project Runway and The Real World, said: "Boy George is a musical and cultural icon, and it's about time someone captured his story. We are experts in producing celeb-reality docu-series, and we couldn't be more excited with the opportunity to tell this story with the right broadcast partner."

Jeff Jenkins, EVP of Development and Programming at Bunim/Murray Productions added: "This series will give viewers unprecedented access to his life as he launches his first tour in years and lets the cameras capture this next chapter of his life and career."

Boy George had a string of hits both as a solo artist and with his band, including classics like "Karma Chameleon," "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me," and "I'll Tumble 4 Ya." Asked about his upcoming documentary series project, the outrageous singer who popularized the androgynous look on and off the stage simply said: "If Marge Simpson met Dolly Parton and went dancing with Ziggy Stardust, it wouldn't come close to what you'll see. Why now, why not? Why me, who else?"

Producer Cowan told the press: "I could not be more excited to partner with a great group like Bunim/Murray and to let the world get a glimpse inside the man behind the icon. Get ready, you are in for a ride!" Boy George's manager Kemsley added: "I'm excited for George to partner with Bunim/Murray. They are the best at what they do and he's the best at what he does. A cultural icon embracing the world we live in and opening the doors to his life as he moves to the States will capture the nation's heart."

Boy George, Kemsley, Cowan and Bunim/Murray's Goldschein and Jenkins will serve as executive producers in the show that will be foolowing Boy George in his new life in America, including dating, house hunting, embarking on Culture Club's North American tour, managing Brando, his pop group, launching a vegan food line and juggling visiting family members. Shooting is expected to begin this summer as soon as Boy George arrives in Los Angeles.
