Artificial Photosynthesis May Help Stop Global Warming: Thanks to Nano Wires and Bacteria

Global warming may yet to be resolved through artificial photosynthesis wherein carbon dioxide is turned into useful chemical products which may significantly reduce and resolve the greenhouse effect on the planet as per the report of Micro Cap Observer news.

International researchers were able to develop a process of photosynthesis simulation wherein use of solar energy plus the captured carbon dioxide becomes converted to everyday biodegradable products like pharmaceutical medicines, plastics and liquid fuel.

The photosynthesis system was brainstormed by researchers from the University of California and the Department of Energy wherein bacteria and nanowires are used to simulate natural photosynthesis.  In science, photosynthesis is the process of using of sunlight by the leaves in synthesizing carbohydrates from water and carbon dioxide.  What the researchers discovered was that in biosynthesis, carbon dioxide and water are naturally synthesized resulting into acetate.

Proud scientists said that they were proud of what they have achieved and this will be a forward leap into the future with the revolutionary system.  Peidong Yang who is the Material Sciences Division chemist at the Berkeley laboratory in the University of California stated that their system has the ability to change the oil and chemical industry as they can produce fuel and chemicals in a renewable way with this breakthrough.

This innovation will pave the way to a more advanced methodology which can be used by chemical and oil industries.  It is a way to lead them to a renewable production of oil and chemicals.  Good news for companies is they no longer need to drill deep into the sea or soil in search for fuel when artificial photosynthesis can do that and taking care of our nature as well.
