Charlie Hunnam has always managed to keep himself in excellent shape in all of his projects. The "Sons of Anarchy" star has maintained an enviable physique in films like "Pacific Rim", "Deadfall" and "Crimson Peak." However, Hunnam took extra measures to make sure he had the abs of a true ruler in "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword". The "Papillion" actor decided to take up a new kind of jiu-jitsu training to prepare for the Guy Ritchie movie.

It takes a lot of hard work to stay in shape, and Charlie Hunnam certainly knows this. The "Sons of Anarchy" star has worked hard to gain weight to play Jax Teller in the series. Hunnam has once again had to make himself bigger and stronger for "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword", resulting in the star undergoing a different kind of jiu-jitsu training.

The star of "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" recently revealed to Men's Health that he took up jiu-jitsu in preparation for his role as the legendary monarch (via BJJ Eastern Europe). Charlie Hunnam also admitted that his regimen included "running, swimming, jumping rope, hiking" as well as getting plenty of sexy time. It certainly looks like Hunnam considers making love as an excellent form of exercise.

BJJEE revealed that Charlie Hunnam has taken the new jiu-jitsu training from sensei Rigan Machado, who has developed a special system for celebrity clientele. The technique, called "flow jiu jitsu", allowed Machado's client to train without having to spar. The "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" is not the only celebrity who has adopted the bjj system. Mickey Rourke, Vin Diesel and Ashton Kutcher have reportedly trained with Machado.

Charlie Hunnam might have no problem filming action scenes now that he has all the proper training, but the "Sons of Anarchy" star might not be ready to add a romantic movie to his filmography. Entertainment Weekly has reported that the "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" actor has bowed out of the film "Zoe" and will be replaced by "T2: Trainspotting" star Ewan McGregor. In the meantime, "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" will premiere on May 12.
