‘Jurassic World 2’ First Look: Director Teases Start Of Production, First Official Picture Released! [PICTURES]

After the huge success of "Jurassic World" in 2015, it was apparent that a sequel should take place soon. Now, "Jurassic World 2" director J.A. Bayona posted the first official photo for the sequel, seemingly confirming that the production has finally started.

"Jurassic World 2" is not set to hit the theaters until June 22, 2018, but the production team has started the ball rolling already, Gamespot noted. J.A. Bayona, - director of "The Orphanage" - who will helm the sequel teased fans with the start of production by posting the first ever photo from production. Taking to Twitter, Bayona posted a black and white photo of several head gears with the recognizable symbol of "Jurassic Park" plastered on it. He then accompanied the photo with words "Getting ready for the journey," which many claimed to mean the start of the sequel's production.

In fact, renowned producer Frank Marshall posted the first ever photo from the set of "Jurassic World 2" giving fans a first glimpse of the sequel, Cinemablend reported. Marshall has been with the franchise from the very beginning, producing several works of Steven Spielberg as well.  In fact, he was responsible for ushering together the new "Jurassic World" franchise. While the plot has been kept mum over the past two years, many fans were intrigued by the photo of a young girl inside a museum full of dinosaur skeletons.

The identity of the young girl in the picture remains a mystery. Bryce Howard's character from the first movie had two nephews and this young girl looks like an addition to the journey. Right now, filming for "Jurassic World 2" is underway in the U.K. according to Den of Geek. According to avid followers of the franchise, the sequel has been to many exotic locations already. Chris Pratt will also return for the sequel alongside Howard.

Catch "Jurassic World 2" on June 22, 2018. Universal Studios revealed that the sequel will be shown on June 8, 2018 - two weeks ahead of the U.S. premiere - in the U.K.
