Everyone knows that "The Walking Dead" has a way of getting its major characters killed without a moment's warning. Fans can still recall how the showrunners got Abraham (Michael Kudlitz) and Glenn (Steven Yeun) killed at the hands of the current sadistic villain of the series, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). During the season finale, fans witnessed the heroic act of Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Shiva, the pet tiger of King Ezekiel (Khary Payton). Now, recent spoilers seem to indicate that season 8 would be the last time for everyone to see Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in the series.

There were already "The Walking Dead" speculations that Rick will not survive in season 7 but apparently, he did. However, it seems that it wouldn't be the same in season 8. The series producer, Scott Gimple said in an interview that Rick is willing to sacrifice for the sake of his friends and family.

"The Walking Dead" producer explained that Rick will experience any kind of loss, even himself just to let his people and others the life that they deserve. "Where the world belongs to all of them and not just one person. A real life," Gimple told TV Line. "That's the only choice," he added. "So he's willing to face the losses."

Gimple also added that Carl (Chandler Riggs), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Judith will also suffer any loss in "The Walking Dead." Rick has suffered too much loss. From his family to the people who have been his friends throughout their apocalyptic journey against the walkers and the real people who love to put their lives in danger.

Recent reports from Celebeat indicate that Rick will use Lucille to kill Negan in "The Walking Dead" season 8 if the showrunners will follow what's in the comics. However, the series is known for not actually following the comics. Hopefully, Rick would still see the light in the upcoming season.
