When executive producers happily announced that Jennifer Esposito was joining "NCIS" season 14 as a series regular, fans were thrilled of this idea as there will be another addition to the team following Michael Weatherly's departure from the show. However, it was announced earlier last week that she is no longer part of the show. Apparently, most fans were not happy about this but it appears that she has expected this to happen to her character. She played as Special Agent Alexandra Quinn, with a sharp wit, enormous talent and quick mind.

On Saturday, one fan asked Esposito how she was doing after being written off from "NCIS" season 14. She quickly responded and said that she is certainly doing well and has been looking forward for this to happen to Special Agent Alex Quinn. "No i am not ill but I so appreciate your concern. Was not meant to be there long but happy I was," she wrote on Twitter. "Met some great new friends! Love 2u all."

That said, it seems that she already knew firsthand that her character would only star in "NCIS" season 14 and doesn't mean to last in the series. It can be recalled how team leader Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) persuaded her to go back into the field work to join the team. Alex Quinn left the field and decided to become an instructor at the Law Enforcement Training Center. Fans have learned to love Esposito's character but as CarterMatt suggests, it seems that the CBS crime series has this trend of cutting back their cast and get another new member to join.

Fans can remember that apart from Esposito's quick casting in "NCIS" season 14, she was also part of ABC series "Mistresses" for only one season. Nonetheless, fans are hoping that she would be back in the police procedural series in the future through Leroy Jethro Gibbs' effort. Fair enough!
