Lindsay Lohan Rent Rumors: Struggling Actress Can't Afford Mansion

Lindsay Lohan can barely afford the $8,000 a month rent on her Beverly Hills mansion, TMZ reported on Sunday. Lohan signed the lease in February when she thought her career was bouncing back, but recent financial woes (mainly the big bad tax man) have left her struggling to make ends meet sources told the gossip site.

"Lindsay tried to get out of the lease and move out early, but we're told the owners of the home told LiLo the penalty for breaking the lease was massive," a source told TMZ. "Lindsay is making it work until the lease is over in February, and LiLo is telling friend she'll then look for a place in New York."

A few other moves have cost Lohan big bucks this year.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Lohan owes Bravo $200,000 for breaking a contract with the show "Million Dollar Decorators." LiLo allegedly allowed contractors to do work on her home for free, but then refused to allow the show to film the work producers paid for.

Then there's the $230,000 she owes to the IRS. "Scary Movie 5" pal Charlie Sheen cut her a check for $100,000 to help, but it doesn't appear to be enough.

Now Lohan is doing anything and everything she can to raise money. Including sending little sister Ali to second-hand clothing stores to try and sell her designer duds.

Ali was spotted at L.A. high-end clothing store Wasteland trying to talk up the value of Lindsay's hand-me-downs because "Lindsay was photographed wearing them, that has to add value."

There is one scenario that Lohan could use to get out of her Beverly Hills Mansion: a jail sentence for an assault charge related to her nightclub brawl last month.
