'Sherlock' Season 5 Gains New Fan Support Through #Bring221Back Twitter Hashtag, Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman Still Eager To Return?

There is much concern over the possibility that "Sherlock" Season 5 will no longer happen, especially from fans of creative writing duo of Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. Now it looks like people have found a way to try and get Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman to return to the BBC One series. A new Twitter account is urging everyone to use the hashtag #Bring221Back to compel the producers to work on a follow up on "The Final Problem".

The Twitter account @Bring221Back was created earlier this month by fans of the beloved Benedict Cumberbatch show. The account reminds people of how Arthur Conan Doyle was "accosted in the streets by fans" who wanted to read more of Sherlock Holmes' adventures. The story certainly seems to parallel what is currently happening to "Sherlock" Season 5, which has been placed in hiatus as Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman work on Marvel Cinematic Universe films. However, the hashtag #Bring221Back aims to change things for the Steven Moffat series.

Fans are urged to take to social media with requests for "Sherlock" Season 5 and adding the hashtag #Bring221Back. The idea is to get the hashtag trending to catch the attention of the producers and hopefully get Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman to reprise their roles in the series. The movement aims to trend the hashtag on April 2, so people who want to see what happens after "The Final Problem" should mark their calendars.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are not the only "Sherlock" Season 5 stars who might be too busy to work on the series. CeleBeat has previously reported that Sian Brooke, who portrayed Sherlock's sister Eurus Holmes in the previous season, has been cast in "Mission Impossible 6". Hopefully, all actors will find time to return for the series once #Bring221Back becomes successful.
