'Aquaman' With Jason Momoa May Become The Second Best Solo Movie of DC Cinematic Universe After 'Wonder Woman'

Following "Wonder Woman," "Aquaman" will become the second best movie in the DC Cinematic Universe. Jason Momoa has prepared so much for the movie and he is hailed as the most suitable actor to play Arthur Curry.

According to Chicago Tribune, as many DC Comics fans focus their attention to the upcoming "Justice League," the solo movie of "Aquaman" will be able to steal the show in 2018. James Wan is appointed to direct the movie, which is produced by Zack and Deborah Snyder with Charles Roven.

Last week, another cast member has confirmed to join the "Aquaman." Nicole Kidman said that she has agreed to play in the movie as Queen Atlanna, Aquaman's mother. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she explained her reason to join the movie.

“James Wan is an Australian, and I’ve followed his career since he started. He’s a really good friend of mine," she said. She said that as soon as Wan came to her offering the role of Queen Atlanna, she immediately jumped in. Kidman said that she wanted to have fun in the movie "Aquaman."

Queen Atlanna is depicted in the comics as the Princess of Atlantis who became an outcast. She later met Tom Curry, a lighthouse keeper and fell in love with him. She later gave birth to Arthur Curry, who possess a metahuman capabilities. Some of his ability is to breathe under water and communicate with sea creatures.

As the director, before selected to direct "Aquaman" Wan is well-known as the creator of the horror movie "Saw," which he created with close friend screenwriter Leigh Whannell in 2003. Together they made the movie and after a huge success, he continued to make a horror movie. His most well-known movies after "Saw" are two movies of "Insidious" in 2011 and "The Conjuring" in 2013.
