People are understandably excited about the upcoming "Invader Zim" film, especially since it will bring back the infamous space invader who wants to destroy Earth. But when exactly is the "Invader Zim" movie release date? There are speculations that the Nickelodeon flick will premiere by late summer. This may have been teased in the animated film's two promos, which also confirmed the return of Zim's robot minion GIR.

Fans have been hoping for the famously canceled animated series to be brought back for almost two decades. Creator Jhonen Vasquez has been eager to bring back Zim, Dib and GIR since the show enjoyed a short rerun back in 2010. Luckily, Nickelodeon has decided to produce a 90-minute film featuring the original voice cast, as per Variety. Could the "Invader Zim" movie release date be set for summer this year? The teasers certainly reveal that Zim will return "soon-ish".

The first teaser for the "Invader Zim" movie has the crazy alien commanding the computer to prepare for world domination (via YouTube). But first, he is looking for some scary sounds to strike terror into the hearts of mankind. Unfortunately, the computer doesn't seem to know the meaning of "terrifying", resulting in Zim's absolute frustration.

The second hilarious promo features Zim practicing his evil laugh that he will certainly use once he manages to take over the world. However, his constant robot companion GIR joins in and the laughter is more (adorably) annoying than terrifying. Nevertheless, the teaser confirms that GIR will be back to help his master defeat Dib in the "Invader Zim" movie.

The "Invader Zim" movie release date has not yet been announced but there are speculations that the film will premiere in late summer. The animated flick will be executive produced by creator Jhonen Vasquez. Keep checking CeleBeat for more updates on your favorite animated shows and movies.
