A dangerous new monster is coming to the big screen and it looks like she has major daddy issues on her dusty sleeve. Ahmanet, the resurrected Egyptian princess played by Sofia Boutella in "The Mummy", is set to unleash thousands of years of fury over being denied the right to be named pharaoh. Will Tom Cruise end up being on the receiving end of Ahmanet's daddy issues when the Alex Kurtzman film hits theaters later this year?

Entertainment Weekly has recently shared some details about "The Mummy", including an interesting revelation about Tom Cruise's heroic character. According to the outlet, Cruise's Nick Morton will find that he has a strange connection to Sofia Boutella's Ahmanet. After all, Nick is set to find himself still strangely alive following a tragic plane crash. Is it possible that Ahmanet has caused his unexpected resurrection? Director Alex Kurtzman says that the new photo of Nick and Ahmanet together hints on Cruise's character learning that they have plenty in common. "He’s realizing that he’s deeply, and desperately, cursed," Kurtzman said of Nick.

But what exactly caused Ahmanet to be so filled with fury? It looks like Sofia Boutella's villainous character has major daddy issues. The Egyptian princess was initially promised by her father that she will inherit his throne. However, the pharaoh later betrayed his own daughter when he was given a male heir. Needless to say, Ahmanet isn't pleased with being set aside and immediately vows vengeance over the betrayal. Can Tom Cruise's Nick Morton stop her before she destroys everything in sight in "The Mummy"?

Sofia Boutella and Tom Cruise are not the only big names in "The Mummy". The monster film also features "Peaky Blinders" actress Annabelle Wallis as well as Russell Crowe and will premiere on June 9, as per YouTube.
