Tom Hardy may have proven that he has what it takes to be the new James Bond. The "Peaky Blinders" Season 4 actor recently turned a leisurely stroll into an action film-style chase to catch a runaway thief in Richmond, London. Hardy's heroic takedown of a minor criminal certainly had people talking so it's no surprise that the "Taboo" actor is once again the fan favorite for replacing Daniel Craig as 007. Will Hardy get called in to take on the lead role in "James Bond 25"?

The suburban town of Richmond became the setting for Tom Hardy's Hollywood-style takedown of a hapless thief who had no idea what hit him. According to a source, the "Peaky Blinders" Season 4 star came out of nowhere when two boys riding a stolen moped crashed into a car and one of the thieves made a run for it (via The Sun). Hardy reportedly chased the kid through several gardens before finally catching up with him and dragging him back to a bus stop to wait for authorities. Naturally, it didn't take long for fans to resume declaring the "Mad Max: Fury Road" actor as the perfect candidate for James Bond.

The 007 odds are certainly in Tom Hardy's favor. Esquire reports that the "Inception" star is currently at 3/1 on the possibility of being Daniel Craig's replacement. However, Hardy is not yet the top candidate for James Bond. Bookmaker William Hill still counts Idris Elba's odds at 5/2 and "Poldark" Season 3 actor Aidan Turner is currently nipping at his heels. Unfortunately, it looks like the reigning 007 who will appear in "James Bond 25" could still be Craig.

CeleBeat has previously reported on Tom Hiddleston being dissed by "Spectre" producer Barbara Broccoli, who is still courting Daniel Craig to reprise his role in "James Bond 25". Nevertheless, Tom Hardy fans are confident that the "Peaky Blinders" Season 4 will eventually become 007 in the future. Keep checking CeleBeat for more updates on the James Bond casting.
