The fifth season of "Vikings" is set to be the first season without Ragnar Lothbrok, who was killed off in Season 4. However, that hasn't stopped fans from hoping that Travis Fimmel will make an appearance as the former King of Kattegat. Is it possible that Ragnar and Athelstan will be back in "Vikings" Season 5? There are speculations that Fimmel and George Blagden have cameos in a dream sequence in the History series.

"Vikings" certainly has a way of bringing back the dead. Although Athelstan was killed by Floki in Season 3, George Blagden was still a part of the fourth season where the monk appeared to both Ragnar Lothbrok and King Ecbert in a vision. So is it possible that Travis Fimmel will make a similar appearance in "Vikings" Season 5? Both Ragnar and Athelstan could show up in a dream sequence that involves Floki.

CeleBeat has previously reported on the possibility that Floki will see Ragnar Lothbrok in a vision that will lead the gifted boatmaker back home to Kattegat. However, some believe that Athelstan could also make an appearance in Floki's dream as he relives the monk's murder. However, it is still unclear whether Travis Fimmel or George Blagden will have time to return to the History series now that they are very busy with their own projects.

Travis Fimmel is currently working on a new film with Lena Dunham while George Blagden has already started filming for "Versailles" Series 3, where he portrays Louis XIV (via Instagram). Although both actors are quite busy, fans are still crossing their fingers on the possibility of seeing Ragnar Lothbrok and Athelstan at least one more time in "Vikings" Season 5. The series is expected to air on History later this year.
