Amber Portwood's ex wasn't too happy when he read Never Too Late.

Although Gary Shirley, the father of Portwood's five-year-old daughter, Leah, is proud of Portwood and how far she's come, he did have an issue with a claim she made in her recently-released tell-all book.

"The other day he goes, 'You know there’s some parts in your book that just aren’t’ true,'" Portwood recalled in a Sept. 8 interview with IB Times. "And I’m like, 'Like what, Gary?’ And he said, 'Oh, like me cheating on you.'"

Throughout their on-again, off-again relationship, which went on for several years, Portwood and Shirley fought often -- which fans saw on episodes of Teen Mom, as well as their episode of 16 & Pregnant years ago.

However, when it comes to cheating, Shirley alleged he kept things to a minimum, admitting that while he did cheat, he didn't cheat with as many women as Portwood claimed.

"I said, 'Gary, did you cheat on me?' And he goes, 'Yes, but I didn’t cheat on you with three girls,'" Portwood explained.

Either way, Portwood appreciates that Shirley has taken the time to read Never Too Late.

"He’s actually reading my book, which is weird," she said, adding that despite his content dispute, he eventually requested she sign a book for him to hang on to as a keepsake.

Teen Mom returns to MTV next year for a fifth season, which will follow Portwood and Shirley in their co-parenting efforts with Leah.
