Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole have welcomed a son after the singer announced the birth of their baby. Taking to Instagram, she shared a photo of the former One Direction singer carrying their newborn child in his arms, described as “beautiful, healthy baby boy.”

In the baby news announcement, several details were shared about how Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole has become first-time parents to a baby boy who weighs almost 8lbs. "Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival,” the X-Factor judge wrote on Instagram.

As Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole celebrate Mother’s Day as first-time parents, the 33-year-old singer has shared a message to her fellow moms all over the world, saying that such celebration has now brought on a much more different meaning to her. Meanwhile, the 23-year-old boyband member posted his own message on Instagram, expressing his excitement as he embraces fatherhood. "It's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favorite memory I have so far," Liam shared.

According to NY Daily News, Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole continue to keep the romantic spark alive; showing his gratitude to his girlfriend, he described the former “Girls Aloud” star as an “incredible mother.” Liam also thanked her for making his dreams come true and making him feel deeply blessed for the birth of their son.

The Daily Mail reported that Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole welcomed their first child at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. The famous couple was reportedly together inside a private ward when Cheryl delivered the baby. She had kept a quiet pregnancy away from the public and only recently announced the baby news as she showed her big belly during a L’Oreal photo shoot.

Although Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole have not yet announced a name for their newborn baby, she previously told GQ Magazine that she prefers the name Alfie if ever she had a son. "I know that's what I was put on the Earth to do – to be a mother,” Cheryl added.

Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole first crossed paths in 2009 when he was auditioning on “The X-Factor” at 16 years old while she was a judge on the show. During the time, Cheryl was married to French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.
