Paramount Pictures’ Terminator: Genisys, the fifth installment in the Terminator film franchise, is set to hit the theaters on July 1. To herald the event, the studio on Monday has just released a new trailer [via Movie Web] that reveals its plan for the reboot of the franchise series. John Connor becomes the new terminator and he's out to terminate his mother Sarah! But of course, the old guardian T-800 terminator is still there and he will do what he can to thwart Skynet's latest scheme at world domination.Read more

Paramount’s UK trailer for the latest Terminator film gives some well-deserved screen time to recent Best Supporting Oscar winner J.K. Simmons, who plays a sympathetic detective. It’s no wonder that they have featured Simmons prominently as his little film Whiplash is doing well overseas, especially in South Korea – a surprise, given the market’s penchant for tentpole actioners. Whiplash took the No. 1 spot in the all-important territory last weekend. In addition to Simmons, the movie won two other Oscars, for editing and sound mixing. The film has made about $20M overseas so far, per Rentrak, and is far from ending its run.Read more

Paramount Pictures’ Terminator: Genisys, the fifth installment in the Terminator film franchise, is scheduled for release on July 1. Directed by Alan Taylor from a screenplay written by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier, the upcoming science fiction action movie has been described by Collider as a “reset,” which serves to act as a sequel, a prequel, and a reboot to the series. It will involve moving back and forth in time which will have Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 model character revisiting events in the earlier Terminator 1 to 4 movies.Read more

Terminator: Genisys, the fifth installment in the Terminator film franchise, will see Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 model body’s aging. And it will be moving back and forth in time. So, Terminator 5 may not be a total reboot after all, as it may involve his character revisiting events in the earlier Terminator 1 to 4 movies, albeit with a lot of twists from the original story lines.Read more
