Michael Bay 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle' Reboot Release Pushed Back

The controversial Michael Bay "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" reboot has been shelved indefinitely due to script issues. The film was supposed to be released in December of 2013.The new release date is May of 2014.

The movie first made news when Bay revealed that the turtles would be from outer space in his version of the film. Fans of the classic franchise did not take well to the news.

Bay later said that the fans needed to relax and that he would do the film justice.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is being produced by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes and Jonathan Liebesman is directing. The script is being written by Kevin Eastman and Andre Nemec.

"Our pipeline is extremely strong," Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman said. "We're developing more new [episodes] of our popular series and more exciting new series. And of course, we're particularly excited about the revival of the Turtles franchise."
