The incident that started the rivalry between East Coast rapper Biggie Smalls and West Coast rapper Tupac Shakur has been solved.

Back in 1994, Tupac Shakur was in New York City at Quad Studios recording music when the rapper was shot. Also at the studio was Biggie Smalls and while the two were friends up until that point, Shakur blamed Smalls for the shooting. Shakur said because it was in Smalls' hometown city that the rapper should have known it was going to happen or who did it. The case was never solved up until now.

James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond, a convicted drug dealer, has confessed to being the mastermind behind the shooting. Under the "Queen For A Day" program, Rosemond confessed that he was the one that set up the shooting. Shakur was hit with five bullets that night, but survived the attack. "The "Queen For A Day" program allows suspected assailants under investigation choose to enter an agreement with the government to confess knowledge of certain crimes with the agreement that the information won't be used to prosecute them."

Reportedly, Rosemond paid Dexter Isaac $2,500 plus jewelry to rob and shoot Shakur.

Shakur was killed in 1996 in Las Vegas and Smalls was killed in 1997 in California. Their deaths brought an end to the East Coast, West Coast rivalry.
