Is Lindsay Lohan planning to adopt? Say it isn't so.

Sure, we're pulling for the embattled "Liz and Dick" actress who has fought problems with alcohol, drug abuse and most recently asthma. We just don't think the 26-year-old is quite ready for that all-important step called motherhood.

Lohan wasn't happy when "Access Hollywood" told her last night that a so-called "friend," said she was planning to adopt. "I need to find out who this friend is because that's been going on my whole life of people telling things that I think are my friends," she said. "That's no one's business."

Lohan has never been one to mince words when talking to the press. When talking to "Good Morning America" this week, she explained that she got the "Liz and Dick" role by kind of, sort of stalking the producer. "I had seen that they were going to be making the movie, and I got the producer's number," she said. "I didn't even care if my agents were going to do it or not, I just did it myself too."

"It's really nerve-wracking to play someone that's such an incredible force, and a wonderful woman, so I was kind of nervous to see what people would think of it," Lohan told GMA. "You can never actually be a clone of the person, so you have to bring some of yourself into it. I was lucky enough, because I do relate to Elizabeth Taylor in a lot of ways."

Though Lohan didn't elaborate, viewers immediately thought she was talking about Elizabeth Taylor's drinking problems. In 1983, Taylor checked herself into the Betty Ford Clinic for alcohol abuse. At that time, celebs didn't talk about their stints in rehab as publicly. So the admission soon garnered additional fans and critics.

"I tried to mask my problems with alcohol, cocaine and mind-altering substances," Lohan told the British newspaper The Sun in 2010. "Now I'm in a place where I don't need to use anything and I can feel emotions because I choose to."

But she's in a better place now, she says. "I just want to move forward, keep working," she told GMA. "And just be happy."
