Haven't heard of the Canadian indie rock duo Tegan and Sara? You will soon.

The adorable brunettes with extra-long bangs and Tree of Life tattoos aren't just friends. They're identical twins!

Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Keirsten Quin, now 33, started recording in 1995 in Calgary. But in the last 18 years, something's changed. They've grown up.

"The Quins' distance from teenagerdom allows them to approach those volatile memories with deeper consideration. ... [The] delivery is clear and controlled and has never sounded more confident, backed by an enchanting production that illuminates Tegan and Sara's bait-and-switch style duets," according to Time magazine. "The words have plenty of room to dither and do whatever teenagers do - Tegan and Sara have the rest of the song on lock."

Their new album has gotten mixed reviews from fans. But most critics agree - it's gold. "Some folks have accused the duo of selling out with 'Heartthrob' -- a concise 10 songs, at least half of which could be pop radio singles-- to which I'd argue that accessibility has always been a part of their appeal, in more respects than just working in friendly acoustic, rock, and electro-pop mediums," Laura Snapes writes on Pitchfork. "Surely part of the comfort of their music, at least to a young person quietly negotiating their sexuality without wanting to be obvious about it, is that it doesn't make a big deal of what it's come to represent."

You may be familiar with their hit singles "Where Does The Good Go" or "I Know I Know I Know," but their newest album "Heartthrob" marks a shift - and it will likely be a change that garners a lot more fans.

The dreamy and hysterical Andy Samberg recently interviewed Tegan and Sara to find out what exactly they look for in a heartthrob.

Apparently he didn't make the cut for these talented sisters. But don't worry, Andy. We think you're a heartthrob!

Tegan and Sara's single "Closer" - which is on this album - has a rock-disco vibe that adds an upbeat tempo to what many will view as pretty sexual lyrics:

"All you think of lately is getting underneath me
All I'm dreaming lately is how to get you underneath me
Here comes the heat before we meet a little bit closer
Here comes the spark before the dark, come a little closer"

Damn, Tegan and Sara! Sing it girls! And how fitting is it that Valentine's Day is right around the corner?

Download this song to your V-Day playlist, ladies. There's no question it will get your guy's heart racing!
