Lindsay Lohan News:'Mean Girls' Star To Stay In Rehab?

Lindsay Lohan reportedly wants to extend her stay at rehab.

TMZ reported Tuesday that the 27-year-old actress wanted to stay at the Betty Ford Center where she has been since May.  A judge sentenced to Lohan to 90 day treatment.

Lohan is scheduled to be discharged on Wednesday, but sources told the website that the Mean Girls star wanted to stay an additional three days.  Allegedly, she wanted a few more days before she transitioned outside of the confines of rehab. After treatment, she will return to her life in New York.

The site also reported that those close to the actress believe that she has turned over a new leaf.  Others have also been willing to give Lohan the benefit of the doubt. Paul Schrader who directed her in the soon to be released Canyons offered her praise to her this past week.

"Lindsay has moved out of her ingénue phase," he said. "I think she wears the new phase quite well."

E! announced on Monday that Lohan will be the guest host on Chelsea Lately for the  Monday, Aug. 5 telecast.
