Alec Baldwin will host a new show on MSNBC.

The new show will air on Friday from 10-11 p.m. ET and has the title "Up Late w/ Alec Baldwin." It will air sometime in October, according to Us Weekly.

"After two seasons of my WNYC podcast, I've developed a fondness for hosting a show that involved talking with smart, talented and engaging people in every imaginable field," said Baldwin in a statement. "I'm grateful to MSNBC for helping me bring a similar show to television."

The new show has been circulating a lot for some time.

Baldwin has starred in such movies as The Hunt for Red October (1990) and The Departed (2006). This year, his NBC sitcom 30 Rock ended.

MSNBC described his new show as "weekly current events and culture talk show."

Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC, said: "He's got such passion for ideas and what's going on in the world -  he's going to be a great addition to our line-up."
