"The Science Guy" says goodbye to the Dancing With the Stars. Bille Nye was eliminated on week three on Monday, Sept. 30 even if he has a huge fan base, Us Weekly reported.

The 57-year-old star was sent home after he danced with a leg injury and he earned low scores from the judges.

The Science Guy star tore his quadriceps tendon last week. However, he ignored the doctor's orders and still performed a robot jazz routine to Daft Punk's Get Lucky .He wore a leg immobilizer and tried his best to dance with his pro partner Tyne Stecklein without moving his leg too much.

One of the judges, Len Goodman praised him for his effort. Nye, to perform with that type of injury, it takes guts, it takes determination and bravery . . . that shows a lot about the man. Well done," Goodman said.

The judges only awarded him 16 points and even with combined with viewer's votes, he was sent home.

"There's people here who are working hard, who are so good," Nye said. "You see them improving every week. I'm not going to be able to keep up for that. But what breaks my heart is Tyne not being able to stay in. She's fantastic."

"Thanks for keeping me in this long," he added. "These other people are extraordinary. It's been really cool. It's been a great experience."
