Dean Sheremet on LeAnn Rimes's Affair: I Just Never Saw It Coming [VIDEO]

Dean Sheremet has spoken to Access Hollywood about his ex-wife LeAnn Rimes's Affair, PEOPLE reported Friday.

Sheremet and Rimes were married for eight years when she began an affair with Eddie Cibrian in 2009. Cibrian was married to Brandi Glanville at the time and shared two children with her. Cibrian and Rimes married in 2011.

Sheremet, who is a chef, revealed how he found out about the affair. He said it was through a phone call. Rimes told him that a magazine possibly had pictures of her kissing Cibrian.

"What do you mean, 'May or may not have a picture?' What does that mean?" he told Bush and co-host Kit Hoover. "It unfolded from there."

Sheremet admitted his surprise that Rimes would have cheated on him. He had not suspected there was anything wrong in their union.

"You have that assumption that the person that you're with would never do something like that," he said.

Sheremet has moved on with his life. In August 2011, he married photographer Sarah Silver. He revealed that he and Rimes do not keep in touch and that he was not bothered to be asked about the situation years later.

"It's fine because I've really laid low during the whole thing. It's part of my story and it's the reason that I get to do awesome cooking segments. Whatever it is that gets me in the door is fine. I'm really a chef!," he said.
