Jenny McCarthy is currently off the market, dating Donnie Wahlberg, but years ago, she had aspirations of becoming the next Bachelorette. Unfortunately, ABC producers weren't interested.

On the Jan. 14 episode of The View, McCarthy's co-host Barbara Walters revealed the little known tidbit about her which later aired on the show.

"In the interest of information, one of us, that one," Walters said, as she pointed to McCarthy, "You tried out to be a Bachelorette and you did not make it!"

"No one knows that!" McCarthy said, in shock. "When I got a divorce, I was lonely. I needed to be loved. I did this show called Singled Out on MTV back in the day, so I knew that if I thought it would be great because I was single and I love TV, so put those together and brilliant."

From there, McCarthy put her agent to work in hopes at making her Bachelorette dreams, and her dreams to find The One, come true.

"I got my agent to call ABC and say I wanted to be the new Bachelorette and they said, 'No we're not using celebrities at this time.' That was 10 years ago. So, pfft."

While McCarthy may never be an official Bachelorette star, she is happier than ever now that she and Walberg are a couple -- and in a new interview, she revealed that marriage is a possibility for their future.

"I think he would be an amazing husband," McCarthy told Bethenny Frankel during a Nov. 11, 2013 appearance on her daytime talk show, Bethenny. " So, if he does [propose], yeah, I would sure say yes."McCarthy also added, "I wouldn't be surprised if I was the one proposing!"
