Jenelle Evans Defends Herself After Planning To Get Pregnant Just Four Months After Abortion

Since announcing her pregnancy, Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans has gotten plenty of backlash. Because she was pregnant three times in 2013, many thought that it wasn't the smartest decision, especially since she still doesn't have custody of her four-year-old son Jace. However, in a Jan. 29 interview, Evans is opening up about her decision to get pregnant just four months after opting to abort the child she had conceived with husband Courtland Rogers in spring of 2013.

"I panicked - I'd just gotten off heroin, I was very skinny and unhealthy, I wasn't stable," Jenelle explained to In Touch Weekly of her decision to abort. "But I hope people will see where I was then and where I am now and why I decided it's OK to keep this baby."

Currently, Evans is pregnant with the baby of Nathan Griffith, a man she met on a dating app on the day she had her abortion, and due to give birth in June.

"We planned it," Evans said of the pregnancy. "We're financially stable. He's a good father."

Just like Evans, Griffith also has a young child, a daughter named Emery, but does not have custody of her and sees her no more than once a month. Evans, on the other hand, has been seeing her son Jace nearly every weekend and said she's closer than ever to regaining custody.

"My mom says that if I stay stable for one more year, she'll give me custody of Jace," Jenelle told the magazine. "Everyone thinks I can't do this, but I can't wait to prove them wrong. I'm in a much better place. I can be a good mom."

In addition to the pregnancy ending in abortion, Evans was also pregnant by Rogers in early 2013, but that particular pregnancy ended in miscarriage in late January of 2013.
