Philip Seymour Hoffman was pronounced dead on Feb. 2. after a friend found him unconscious, needle in arm, at his New York City apartment. Now, fans are finding out new details about the scene in which he died.

According to Radar Online, cops are still on scene at Hoffman's Greenwhich Village apartment, scouring the place in an attempt at determining exactly what went down in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

"As of Monday, officials had recovered up to 50 separate packets of heroin, more than 20 used hypodermic needles, a charred spoon and a smattering of anti-anxiety medications police suspect the actor didn't have a prescription for," the site reported on Feb. 3.

Hoffman was renting the two-bedroom, two-bathroom 1,100 sq. foot fourth floor apartment on a month-to-month basis for $9,800. The home, which featured 10-foot beamed ceilings was just three blocks from the $4.25 million apartment he purchased with his estranged partner Mimi O'Donnell in 2008.

At the center of the investigation are bags of drugs with the tag, "Ace of Hearts," a street name for heroin, and envelopes with the name, "Ace of Spades," which are also said to have heroin in them.

"He was what we call a heavy 'red liner,'" a source told Radar Online on Monday morning. "That means he liked to shoot [heroin] with a needle, but he also sniffed it daily. And he was majorly hooked on Oxy, too."
