Former Saturday Night Live star Chris Kattan has been arrested on suspicion of DUI after his Mercedes crashed into a highway maintenance truck on a Southern California freeway, early Monday, February 10, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said to CNN.

According to E! News, the California Highway Patrol received a call saying that the Mercedes was weaving in and out of lanes at around 2 a.m. Monday on the 101 Freeway. Then Kattan reportedly crossed a cone pattern then slammed into the Department of Transportation vehicle that belonged to a crew who was conducting maintenance on the guardrail.

Officer Leland Tang of the California Highway Patrol said that the only injury was the bloody nose of the actor.

"It could have been a lot worse," Tang said.

The actor then failed sobriety tests then was booked on the DUI charge, the officer added.

Tang stated that the authorities also believed that the actor was under the influence of an unknown drug. The police will conduct further tests to identify the drug.

Kattan was on Saturday Night Live from 1996 to 2003. He was famous for his character Mango.
