Katy Perry And John Mayer Split

Katy Perry and John Mayer have called it quits after nearly two years together.

Sources have confirmed to E! News that the pair broke up within the last few days, after Perry arrived home to Los Angeles from London and Milan, where she had been vacationing solo.

Since their relationship began in summer of 2012, Perry and Mayer have had a few ups and downs. In Aug. 2012, the pair split, and reconciled one month later. Then, in Mar. 2013, they split again, only to be "back on" in June.

From there, things appeared to be going well. There were engagement rumors, which surfaced once in November and once in December of 2013, and also a rumor that Perry had turned down a marriage proposal from Mayer.

During a Feb. 19, 2014 event at London Fashion Week, Perry once again sparked rumors that she and Mayer could be engaged when she was photographed wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger.

Following those particular rumors, which stemmed from a romantic Valentiine's Day dinner at Los Angeles' Sunset Towers, a source told Us Weekly that Perry and Mayer were not engaged.

"It's not true. They are not engaged," the insider explained.

Another source said, "It was a romantic Valentine's Day dinner for the two of them in a private spot but there was no proposal...the dinner was sweet but low-key."

Prior to their Valentine's Day date, Mayer was seen supporting his pop star girlfriend at an after party for the 2014 Grammy Awards on Jan. 26.

"John and Katy were really cute together," an insider told Us Weekly of the evening, which several members of Perry's family also attended. "John had a personal camera slung around his back and was taking photos of everything and everybody tonight."

"John seemed really comfortable with Katy's parents and her brother too," the source added. "[He] was really trying to savor every moment of the night with all the photos he took."

Perry and Mayer have yet to speak out about the split.
