Producers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are looking for new cast members who are close to the existing ladies.

Rather than hire women who have no ties to the cast, producers are hoping to bring aboard long-term friends of the returning cast for the series' upcoming fifth season.

After seeing the success of shows such as Shahs of Sunset and Flipping Out, Bravo is changing their casting process in hopes of revamping The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after a lackluster season four.

Shows like Shahs and Flipping Out “resonate with viewers because they were all friends before the shows," a show insider revealed to Radar Online on March 11. "Look at Shah’s, Reza Farahan, Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi and Asa Rahmati have been close for over ten years. Flipping Out’s Jenni Pulos has worked for boss Jeff Lewis for over ten years. It results in an inside look into their lives."

Prior to season four, producers cast two women, Joyce Giraud and Carlton Gebbia, who had never met their co-stars, and now, those women are on the chopping block.

According to reports, Giraud and Gebbia weren't involved enough in the season's happenings with the cast and "were clearly outsiders" when it came to the filming of the three-part reunion.

“Producers want the new cast members of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to be friends with the ladies,” the source explained.

At this point, even the current cast has grown distant with one another and only hang out when they are filming. So now, it is more important than ever that producers find cast members who know the ladies and can bring the cast together as a group.
