L'Wren Scott was found dead of an apparent on Monday, March 17, and now, reports of her financial turmoil have hit the web.

In a new report, it was revealed that the fashion designer was reportedly $6 million in debt and “embarrassed” over what she believed to be the end of her reign in the fashion industry.

According to Radar Online, the 49-year-old designer canceled her London Fashion week show in January just months after her company, LS Fashion LTD, filed documents claiming to be $5,899,548 in debt.

Scott was found unresponsive by her assistant on Monday morning around 10 a.m. after texting her to "come by" her $5.6 million New York City apartment. Upon arrival, the assistant discovered that Scott had hanged herself with a scarf.

“L’Wren was in a lot of financial trouble. She was unable to pay her staff and her suppliers and it had been going on for a very long period of time," a source told the UK's Daily Mail on March 17. "She wanted so badly for things to be a success. Whereas she got her outfits on a number of high profile people, the clothes were not a commercial hit and didn’t fly off the shelves. It was a huge burden on her and she didn’t want to fail.”

Prior to her death, Scott had been in a relationship with Rolling Stones rocker Mick Jagger. The pair had been linked since 2001, but when it came to her money troubles, Scott never asked her partner for help -- despite his being worth a reported $300 million.

“Everyone was very much left wondering why she didn’t ask Mick for help. But she didn’t," the source explained. "Things were left a long time and she spent the past few months struggling to pay the vast amount of her out goings. It was a tragic situation and she kept it from everyone."

Immediately after Scott's death was announced, a rep for Jagger released a statement, claiming he was "completely shocked and devastated" about the passing. Then, when asked whether or not he and Scott were a couple at the time of her death, the rep confirmed that they were "absolutely" together. However, according to law enforcement, Scott was listed as Jagger's "former" girlfriend.
