L'Wren Scott's friend is speaking out about the designer's life before she committed suicide.

According to a close friend of Scott, she was a very positive person, despite her recent death, and her relationship with boyfriend Mick Jagger was "strong."

"She was not the type to be depressed," Scott's longtime friend, modeling agent Marilyn Gauthier, told PEOPLE Magazine. "She was always very positive and so strong. That's why I don't understand. She was so full of life."

The last time Gauthier saw Scott was in June during a party Scott hosted at London's Serpentine Gallery. By Scott's side during the evening was boyfriend Jagger.

"You could see that they were very close," Gauthier noted. "They cared for each other very deeply. They had a strong relationship."

Following Scott's March 17 death, reports circulated which claimed she and Jagger had broken up. However, Jagger's rep spoke out shortly after, denying that the pair were anything less than committed.

A second report claimed Scott was planning to close her New York City store just two days after she committed suicide because of her mounting debt. Although Scott had made a name for herself in the fashion industry, her business management skills weren't up to par, which resulted in her facing a $7.6 million debt at the time of her passing.

Still, Gauthier remembers Scott as a woman of great strength.

"She always moved forward," says Gauthier. "She was always very courageous, which is why I don't understand what happened."
