Bachelorette contestant Eric Hill has died.

On Sunday, Hill was rushed to the hospital, placed into a medically induced coma and listed in critical condition. Days later, his sister announced his death on Facebook.

"Eric shared his final journey with us this morning as all his immediate family were able to be at his side when he passed away," Hill's sister, Karen Tracy, wrote on April 23, according to an Us Weekly report. "Thank you to all of your love and support and prayers and fasting. It was amazing to be with so many of his friends and family yesterday in the hospital who came to express their love for Eric."

Hill was paragliding in Utah on Sunday, after being eliminated from Andi Dorfman's upcoming season of The Bachelorette, when part of his parachute collapsed. After rescuing Hill via helicopter, a team transported him to a local hospital where he remained in a coma until Wednesday when he was pronounced dead.

Before joining the ABC dating show, Hill was on a quest to visit every United Nations-recognized country in 1,200 days and was documenting the journey on his website, GO With Eric: The Global Odyssey. In his first year, Hill had traveled to more than 50 countries.

"He gave us such a gift of a life fully lived and fully shared, and allowed us all to be a part of his last adventure here on earth," Tracy continued. "It is hard to think of life without his bright spark, but we know he is on to new adventures."

The Bachelorette season 10, featuring Hill, premieres on ABC on May 19.
