Tori Spelling's recent hospitalization was reportedly caused by stress.

After dealing with the stress of her marriage troubles playing out on her reality show, Spelling is rumored to have experienced an "emotional collapse," which led the reality star to seek medical attention.

“She needs to do this reality show in order to pay off her debt and become financially stable, but she did not know that doing couples' therapy in front of the cameras would be so much of a challenge,” a source revealed to In Touch Weekly on April 29. “Basically she has a contract that she has to stick with now, but her health is seriously being affected. In order to get paid she must continue. “

Last week, around the time True Tori premiered on Lifetime, Spelling was taken to the hospital, where she remained for at least six days. At the time Spelling was released, the reason for her hospitalization was not given, but days later, Radar Online reported that the mother of four had been suffering from intense headaches as well as an ulcer.

As Spelling left the hospital with her husband, Dean McDermott, her Lifetime camera crew was in tow, documenting her scary ordeal and the moments after for an upcoming episode of True Tori.

“It will make ratings even better, but at what cost,” In Touch Weekly's source asked. “Tori is the victim of reality TV, this is her only option. It is not so much now about saving her marriage as it’s about making money."

After Spelling did an interview with PEOPLE Magazine in Oct. 2013, confirming that her and McDermott's money troubles had forced them to change their lifestyle, McDermott denied they were broke, but months later, after reports of his affair hit the web, it was reported that Spelling couldn't afford to get a divorce.

True Tori airs on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on Lifetime.
