Justin Bieber's father has reportedly been enabling his partying.

In a new inteview, a family friend of the Biebers is speaking out, revealing that Jeremy Bieber hasn't been the best role model for his son in recent years -- and claiming that Justin has been negatively swayed because of it.

“Jeremy loves his kids more than anything, but he’s enabling Justin’s partying,” Cory Bernier told In Touch Weekly on July 17. “When Justin was 18, I saw Jeremy give him [the prescription painkiller] Percocet. He said, ‘Try one of these, son.’ Justin liked the feeling and decided to go four-wheeling after taking it and ended up crashing into a pond.”

In the last two years, Justin has been plagued with legal troubles and run-ins with the law, which include -- but are not limited to -- a DUI charge in Miami, a vandalizm charge in Brazil and an assault charge in Canada. Earlier this month, Justin was sentenced to two years probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor vandalism in connection with the egging of his neighbor's home.

Most recently, Bieber found himself once again dealing with police after reportedly throwing a party at his new condo in Beverly Hills. According to reports, cops were called to Justin's condo after they received a noise complaint. Luckily for Justin, no arrest were made.

“Jeremy loves to party and is being a friend to Justin, not a father,” Bernier added. “Justin needs guidance right now. He needs someone who will say ‘no’ — not someone who’s joining in with him.”

Justin is due back in court on Aug. 5, where it will be decided whether his DUI case goes to trial or settles in a plea deal.
