Sherlock Season 4 News: Major Spoilers Ahead!

The year 2016 is when Sherlock Season 4 will be released, according to the BBC network. Although that is quite a long wait for Sherlock fans, the network is actually brewing a Christmas special for 2015, a one-episode special that will air prior to Season 4. Filming of this episode will start as early as January 2015.

And the most awaited surprise that hardcore Sherlock fans would want to know is whether a third Holmes brother will appear.

Here are some major spoilers we gathered online:

1.       The show will be darker. Steven Moffat said that they will try to take it somewhere they have never been before and have very, very good set of ideas.

2.       Season 4 will be better than Season 3. The producers have a plan to top season 3 and had the cast practically reduced to tears.

3.       The new season will be devastating. Devastating means that one cast member will die? A death of a major character will surely shake things up but the following question is which character will and can die?

4.       Will Irene Adler return? According to sources, it is highly unlikely, but the idea is very good.

5.       The date speculation is due to the cast schedules. Yes it is as both Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are certainly very busy due to upcoming big productions they are headlining.

6.       Moriarty cannot be alive. "He shot himself in the face. What more do you want?" That said, Moffat may have been trying to mislead fans for the element of surprise. But Cumberbatch says there is the possibility.

7.       A new addition in the Holmes-Watson-Morstan household. Since Mary is pregnant from last season, by season 4 she will give birth to Baby Watson and that is an addition to the household. But as per the original Sir Arthur Conan Doyle books, Mary Morstan will certainly die in the future.

8.       Could Molly and Sherlock end up together? Fans went gaga after the kissing scene of Sherlock and Molly in the fantasy sequence at the beginning of season 3. So, a likely odd pair is not bad at all especially that Sherlock is getting jealous on every boyfriend Molly has. But Moffat said that, "Sex is brain work for him. Can you imagine romance with Sherlock? He'd poison his girlfriend just to see if it works."

9.       Will third Holmes brother appear? There is a third Holmes brother named Sherrinford Holmes and Tom Hiddleston is the likely candidate to portray the role.

10.   They've started planning for further seasons. Yes 2-3 more seasons are being planned and Cumberbatch would love to get old playing Sherlock.
