CBS' Criminal Minds Season 10's next episode is entitled "The Forever People." Scheduled for showing January 14, the network's press release states: "When frozen bodies are found in Nevada floating in water, the BAU's investigation leads them to suspect that the victims were part of a cult that could be behind the deaths. Also, JJ confronts old demons from her abduction and torture last year." CBS further revealed that Grant Show will guest star as Cult Leader Colton Grant while Faran Tahir will be reprising his role as Tivon Askari, the terrorist who abducted and tortured JJ in Season 9.

Of course, Tahir may just be appearing in one of JJ's (A.J. Cook) flashbacks since Askari was seen dead after being shot twice by Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) during the rescue scene. In an interview with TVGuide, executive producer Erica Messer hinted that JJ's PTSD may resurface, compelling her to turn to Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) as her "sounding board" to get her through. Said Messer: "I've always loved their friendship and this will bring them closer together. Emotionally, he's going to be so invested in JJ's story" that he won't be able to dwell on his own PTSD condition following the murder of Maeve (Beth Reisgraf) the woman he loves in Season 8.

Of Grant Show's character, the cult leader Colton Grant, not much however has been revealed. Others mentioned guesting in the upcoming episode include Brian Gant, Ptolemy Slocum, Ross Mackenzie, Dion Mucciacito, Travis Lincoln Cox, Kristy Johnson, Amanda Serra, Max Potesky, Christina Edland, Angelina Ganiere, Nicholas Keenan, and Rachel Parker. Written by Breen Frazier and directed by Tawnia McKiernan, the show also stars Joe Mantegna (as David Rossi), Shemar Moore (as Derek Morgan), Kirsten Vangsness (as Penelope Garcia), and Jennifer Love Hewitt (as Kate Callahan).

Meanwhile, CBS has confirmed that it is developing a new spin-off series that it will be airing, initially, as an episode of Criminal Minds in February. Although still without an official title, the pilot episode and the subsequent series will reportedly be focused on "a division of the FBI that helps Americans in trouble abroad."
