Two months ago, while promoting his film, Kill the Messenger, of which he was also producer, Jeremy Renner was asked by fans at the Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session about the possibility of a standalone Hawkeye movie. The actor replied: "Am I interested? Always have been interested. I always love Clint [Barton], and in the last Avengers: Age of Ultron, we got to dive into him some more. Very excited about the outcome of it, and where it can go in the future. But all I can do is want. And that's all I can do. It all comes down to the content, and really how the puppeteers at Marvel can manifest a story that's worthy of a solo movie. Not sure what that is, or how that is, but I'm confident they can do whatever they want, if they want to do it. And I'd be game."

Marvel though has already announced its film release schedule through 3 May 2019, and a solo Hawkeye movie is not among those listed. According to the studio, the upcoming greenlighted Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films are: Avengers: Age of Ultron on 1 May 2015; Ant-Man on 17 July 2015; Captain America: Civil War on 6 May 2016; Doctor Strange on 4 November 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on 5 May 2017; Thor: Ragnarok on 28 July 2017; Black Panther on 3 November 2017; Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 on 4 May 2018; Captain Marvel on 6 July 2018; Inhumans on 2 November 2018; and, Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 on 3 May 2019.

In any event, Renner's Hawkeye can still be seen in the ensemble cast Avengers movies, namely, Avengers: Age of Ultron, as well as Avengers: Infinity War, Parts 1 and 2.He will likewise be reprising his role as William Brandt in Mission: Impossible 5 which will hit theaters on 25 December 2015. He is also attached to return to the screen as Aaron Cross in a still untitled Bourne Legacy sequel movie which is scheduled for showing on 15 July 2016.
