Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Season 2 resumes airing Tuesday, March 3, at 8:00 p.m. on ABC with a still untitled episode 11. According to the studio, the upcoming new Agent Carter TV series, which will be debuting on January 6, will instead be broadcast for the duration of the three-month mid-season break of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.

Hayley Atwell who plays Agent Carter revealed that the new Marvel spinoff series is set to run eight episodes. On the development of her character, she told The Wrap: "I think over the arc of the eight episodes, there'll be a very different facet to who she is, which won't disappoint the fans." The new series takes place in 1946, and deals with Peggy Carter finding herself marginalized professionally after the men return from World War II. She balances her new administrative position with covert missions she undertakes for Howard Stark at his Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR), a "permanent unit during peacetime" that served as precursor to SHIELD.

Agent Carter's maiden episode is entitled "Now is Not the End." According to the network's official synopsis, Atwell's Peggy is contacted by old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) when he is framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons and can trust no one else. To help Peggy clear his name, he insists his butler, Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy), be at her beck and call--whether she likes it or not. But the risk is great: If caught, Agent Carter could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison...or worse. Also cast as regulars on the show are Chad Michael Murray as Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj as Agent Daniel Sousa and Shea Whigham as Chief Roger Dooley. Guest starring are Lyndsy Fonseca as Angie Martinelli, Andre Royo as Spider Raymond, James Hebert as green suit, Kyle Bornheimer as Agent Ray Krzeminiski, Ashley Hinshaw as Colleen O'Brien, Carrick O'Quinn as tall bouncer, James Frain as Leet Brannis, Tim True as tipsy guy, Johnny Marques as bartender, Jeffrey David Anderson as short bouncer, James Urbaniak as scientist, Bill Kalmenson as Senator Webster, Lesley Boone as Rose, Costa Ronin as Anton Vanko and Kevin Heffernan as Madison Avenue Guy.

Meanwhile, executive producer Jed Whedon confirmed that Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Season 2 would tie-in with Avengers: Age of Ultron which will show in theaters onMay 1. He told Entertainment Weekly: "You should expect something. The Avengers is the big tent that all the franchises play under. Obviously, we're included in that."
