Director of the movie Avatar James Cameron has reportedly revealed that his next venture in the movie series will be released not before the year 2017. There were supposed to be three more ''Avatar'' movies but the director says that it is a very difficult task to direct them flawlessly and therefore, it is taking more time than the team had planned on.

Cameron is also leading the team of writers who are completing the script for the next three movies in this series. Their deadline is the end of January to complete the scripts of all the three movies. The first sequel was scheduled to come out next year in 2016, but it was delayed as the team is planning to evolve the story in such a way that it becomes a three-part series. Once the script is finalized, then the filming would begin in earnest.

The first part of the much-acclaimed movie Avatar was released in 2009 and it soon became the highest grossing movie in the history of the box office, earning almost $2.8 billion. It also won many nominations and awards at the Academy Awards that year. It was shot from in New Zealand and the director plans to do the shooting of the lined up movies at the same location, for authenticity purpose, more than anything else.

Produced by Lightstorm Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox, the movie demands a lot of investment in terms of sets and superior sci-fi appearance.

The first movie revolved around the story of a group of people who were made to travel to a world of impossibilities through super advanced science.

Since the director and the writers are working so hard on it, the sequel sounds promising and expected to be as awesome as the first movie, if not better than the first installment of Avatar.
