'New Girl' Star Zooey Deschanel Will Become a “Fantastic Mother” Says Max Greenfield

Max Greenfield who plays Schmidt in the hit sitcom New Girl, is very proud of co-star Zooey Deschanel's pregnancy.

Deschanel has been recently engaged to boyfriend Joey Pechenik and now she is carrying a bun in the oven. 2015 surely is a great year for the couple.

Greenfield commented that Deschanel will make a "fantastic mom." And he's not the only one who seems to think so. Jake Johnson, who plays Deschanel's roommate and former love interest Nick Miller on the show, has already mentioned how "awesome" Deschanel's news is.

This isn't exactly surprising, since the cast is obviously very close and supportive of each other. But as soon as we heard Deschanel was expecting, fans couldn't help wondering how Schmidt - not Max Greenfield, Schmidt - would take the news. Although Greenfield had nothing to offer on that front, he did note that the entire cast and crew found out about Deschanel's pregnancy at the same time. He didn't disclose how they found out, but I have a feeling Deschanel might've cooked up something adorable to break the news.

"It was exciting!" Greenfield told Us Weekly. "[The cast] all found out at the same time on set, and it was just like, 'Oh my god!'"

In another news, Greenfield is teaming up with Omaze for a contest benefiting Chrysalis, a nonprofit organization that helps the homeless and at risk rebuild their lives.

The winner and a friend will be flown out to Los Angeles to spend a day working out with Schmidt, and visiting the New Girl set, where you'll get to meet the members of the cast.
