With the American Idol 2015 auditions rolling out, high School senior Ricky Hendricks came to impress at the New Orleans audition. Above, you can watch Ricky's audition and hear his rendition of Garth Brooks' "The Thunder Rolls" and see how it went down well with American Idol judges. He ended up getting his golden ticket and will advance into the next round.

Hendricks had a passion for music from very early age and dreams of making it big in the country music. He is well versed in different musical instruments and plays guitar at Grace Pointe Church in Monroe. He was only 3 when he participated in a talent competition and announced his career in country music. He is thankful that American Idol gave him the platform to chase his dreams and do something that he had always wanted to do all his life.

The Minneapolis audition for American Idol 2015 saw some amazing contestants as well as absurd.  However, the low key episode was made up for by the palpable chemistry one always gets to see among the judges. Shannon Berthiaume sounded promising, and Keith found her music talent to be a raw one. Kemil Casey was the next contestant who was wearing flip-flops but a little less talented although spirited. There were other contestants but nothing remarkable about them. So, the Minneapolis began with a bang but soon took a downhill.

American Idol season this year is all about youngsters, at least the Minneapolis auditions give that impression. San Francisco is the only city left on the audition schedule.
