'Walking Dead' Spinoff - 'Cobalt' Latest News and Spoilers: Do you Fear the Dead?

The fact that The Walking Dead Series has created a huge ripple effect among the apocalyptic drama fans cannot be denied even a bit. Reportedly, the success has led its creators to develop the spin-off series of the show, which has been coded with the name Cobalt. According to the sources, the name Cobalt will officially be changed to Fear the Walking Dead by the end of the production of the brand new series.

Reportedly, the new series will act as a prequel to the season one of The Walking Dead, however, the producers argue that the two series will be independent of each other, even though it is being called as a spin-off of the original series. If the two series are going to be totally different, it is quite safe for its fans to assume that no characters that appeared in the Walking Dead series are going to appear in its spin-off, Fear the Walking Dead. If some of the characters happen to appear in the spin-off, then it can be presumed that those characters will face the tragic events of apocalypse so that they happen to survive in the post-apocalyptic world. However, no official announcement has been made by the show runners.

The Walking Dead has been inspired from a much-loved comic book Series. The first season of the series premiered on American cable channel AMC in October 2010. Since then, AMC has had no choice but to renew the series for six consecutive seasons, with the last one renewed on October 7, 2014. The spin-off, scheduled to be premiered by the end of this year, will reportedly star Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey, and Frank Dillane.
