The Ghostbusters 3 cast had been praised by the former Ghostbusters themselves, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson.

The all-female Ghostbusters will star comedians Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, where they will be donning the Proton Packs in the Paul Feig directed feature.

The 69-year-old veteran actor was quoted as saying, "Four fiercely funny, foxy, females busting ghosts ... phenomenal!"

Earlier last year when the sequel was conceptualized, Hudson was asked on the idea of an all-female Ghostbusters and he said, "I heard [the new Ghostbusters] was going to be a total reboot, and that it would have nothing to do with the other two movies ... If it has nothing to do with the other two movies, and it's all female, then why are you calling it Ghostbusters? I love females. I hope that if they go that way at least they'll be funny, and if they're not funny at least hopefully it'll be sexy. I love the idea of including women, I think that's great. But all-female I think would be a bad idea. I don't think the fans want to see that," according to Metro.

His comment was in stark contrast to what he is saying now. The actor did eventually understood and acknowledges this new idea.

The Hollywood Reporter asked Hudson's publicist on the change of opinion and received no response.

Dan Aykroyd, on the other hand, called the all-female cast as "magnificient." Bill Murray has yet to comment on the new cast though.
