NBC's Chicago P.D. season 2's 14th episode which airs Wednesday, February 11, at its regular 10:00 pm time slot is titled "Erin's Mom." It will have Erin in the awkward spot of being in between her mother who claims she's found a lead in a high-profile case and her skeptical boss.

According to the studio's teaser, Detective Erin Lindsay's (Sophia Bush) mother Bunny (recurring guest star Markie Post) gets entangled in a robbery-murder case. Bunny comes to her daughter concerned about a suspicious repeat customer at her husband's rental company. This lead brings Intelligence into a case which the precinct's robbery-homicide unit has been working on for months. But Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) doesn't trust the motives of Lindsay's mother. He isn't buying what Bunny is selling about a possible criminal case even though she found a bloody glove in the back of one of her husband's rented moving trucks. In the promo teaser clip, he tells Erin's mom, "Even if I wanted to look into this, I can't get a warrant 'cause you touched blood evidence."

Meanwhile, Detective Antonio Dawson's (Jon Seda) former Vice colleague, Detective Gina Gawronski (guest starring Angelique Cabral), downloads their intel to the team. But Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) doesn't trust the motives of Lindsay's mother.

Chicago P.D. stars Beghe, Bush, Seda, Marina Squerciati as Officer Kim Burgess, Brian Geraghty as Officer Sean Roman, Amy Morton as Desk Sergeant Trudy Platt, Jesse Lee Soffer as Detective Jay Halstead, Patrick John Flueger as Officer Adam Ruzek, LaRoyce Hawkins as Officer Kevin Atwater, Elias Kotas as Detective Alvin Olinsky, and Stella Maeve as Nadia.

In related news, NBC last week announced that Chicago P.D. has been renewed for a third season with the network. According to the studio's report, the show is earning a 2.3 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 9.4 million viewers overall this season, for gains versus last season of +10% in 18-49 and +14% in total viewers. Chicago P.D. has finished #1 or tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in the time period with five of its last six original broadcasts through February 2.
