Fox's Sleepy Hollow season 2 episode 17 which airs Monday, February 16, at the 9:00-10:00 pm time slot is entitled "Awakening." In that episode, a powerful coven of witches will be seen as the next threat to the mortal humanity. The show stars Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane, Nicole Beharie as Lt. Abbie Mills, Katia Winter as Katrina Crane, Orlando Jones as Captain Frank Irving, John Noble as Henry Parish, and Lyndie Greenwood as Jenny Mills.

Directed by Doug Aarniokoski from M. Raven Metzner's script, "Awakening" will open with Henry Parrish's return to Sleepy Hollow. Now armed with John Dee's Grimoire, a powerful book of demonic magic seen retrieved by Irving in last week's episode, he comes with a plan to reconstitute the town's long dormant - but at one point powerful - coven of witches. His initial attempt is met with noticeable but still limited success, prompting him to seek out an ally in his cause.

Meanwhile, as Crane and Mills investigate three separate incidents related to Henry's handiwork, they are lead to one of the many duplicate copies of the Liberty Bell, the repeated peal of which appears to have prompted recent cases of unexplained, uncontrolled rage in some of the town's residents. Following some research, they discover the bell's provenance had been closely associated with an "Awakening" ritual that sparks the powers of those with Witch heritage, which in Sleepy Hollow, potentially numbers among the thousands. And, Jenny tells Abbie and Ichabod what she's learned about the true nature of Irving's soul that it is still under some sort of demonic control. This realization is proven out, complicating the team's current mission even further, and forcing Jenny to resort to drastic measures, says the studio's teaser.

Elsewhere, Katrina, intrigued by her recent encounter with the Warlock Solomon Kent, tries to make sense of his prophetic warning about her more powerful "dark side," and gets an unexpected, though not wholly unwelcome, visitor, which puts her and Ichabod at direct odds. According to executive producer Albert Kim in a talk with TV Guide, "Katrina has a lot of questions regarding where her allegiances lie. Not just because of Henry, but because of her past as a witch, which we'll explore more in the second half [of the season] in regards to what drives her, what her guiding principles are, and how that comes into conflict with our heroes. [Also,] Abraham [the Headless Horseman] was her fiancé, and although she was in love with Ichabod, that's not something she can easily ignore."
