Leah Calvert of the hit reality TV show Teen Mom 2 is "beyond ecstatic" about her new career as a stylist and salon owner. In her Twitter page, she told her followers: "Beyond ecstatic to be doing what I love! Check us out and book your appointment https://t.co/6Fn9z4YOIR & like our FB https://t.co/nmjXwZjfUc." The fans however have been quick to call her out, with one even asking, "How can you charge people when you have no actual training?"

According to Radar Online, Leah still has one year left in school before she is fully certified, although her business offers services from trained professionals with experience. Her business, Gloss, on its 'About' page at the company website states, "Gloss and our stylists have been featured in In touch magazine and pride ourselves on bringing a little red carpet magic to our clients. We have trained professionals with experience to meet any styling needs." The gossip site claims that Leah's new salon may be in trouble. Radar Online reportedly gathered from a spokesman for the West Virginia State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists saying that: "This business is very much illegal. We will be launching an investigation. As a student, you cannot perform services outside of the school."

Leah and her friends Leslee Pannell and Crystal Spinks have together put up Gloss. The three offers makeup sessions for $60 and beauty pageant preparations for $300. In an interview with The Ashley Reality Roundup, Leah's business partner Leslee categorically debunked the Radar Online report. She said: "There is zero truth to the investigation. Nobody [from the state board] has contacted me. We absolutely do have a license. Leah hasn't done hair or makeup for anything. It's all me or Crystal. We are actual makeup artists. We are legal and we have a business license. Leah is still in the process of cosmetology school and does not receive payment for any hair she does. She enjoys the practice and is extremely talented. Her role until she graduates is owner. It is her future career path."
