The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik and Michael Stone, her husband of nine years divorced in November 2012. They were married in August 2003 and have two sons - Miles Roosevelt (born 2005) and Frederick Heschel (born 2008). Bialik and Stone first met in a calculus class as graduate students at the University of California, Los Angeles.

According to an account she shared with CBS, "My husband and I met in calculus class in L.A. True story... He and I -- we got married when we were both in graduate school. We had our first son in graduate school and honestly sort of fell in love with parenting and being with our child as much as possible. We both finished our degrees." Bialik, a real-life neuroscientist, completed her PHD in 2007 with a dissertation titled, "Hypothalamic regulation in relation to maladaptive, obsessive-compulsive, affiliative and satiety behaviors in Prader-Willi syndrome."

As part of their divorce settlement agreement, Bialik gets their 1,400-square-foot, one-bedroom home in Studio City, California, while Stone gets the 1,300-square-foot, three-bedroom house in Sherman Oaks. The former couple shares custody over the children. In a statement she shared via US Weekly, Bialik said: "It's going okay. I mean, I have to say, I give both of us a lot of credit for putting our kids first. It's not easy, but we're doing okay, so thank God."

On a post she wrote for the Jewish parenting journal Kveller.com, Bialik said: "The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible. Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that's what we are focusing on. Our privacy has always been important and is even more so now, and we thank you in advance for respecting it as we negotiate this new terrain." She also wrote: "Divorce is terribly sad, painful and incomprehensible for children. It is not something we have decided lightly."
